David talks about how it all began back in 1996, and the importance of staying relevant to young people today.
A prayer meeting was held on Monday 8th February 1996.
This was the beginning of Encounters, a local Christian schools work project which officially launched in October 1997.
Funded by seven local churches, with the support of Urban Saints and employing one full-time schoolsworker, the project developed relationships with many local schools – primaries, secondaries and 6th form colleges – providing an additional curriculum resource and engaging with young people…
In 2010, thirteen years later, Encounters was reborn as SparkFish. You can follow our rebranding journey here.
